Admissions

General Admissions

Limited places are available in some year groups (Nursery to Year 6).

If you are looking for a place for your child to join any year group at Hugh Myddelton, at any time during the school year, please contact the School Office, on 0207 278 6075 (Tue-Fri only) or by email at admin@humydd.islington.sch.uk. You can also use these details to arrange a school tour. You will then need to fill in an online 'in-year' application form, available at www.islington.gov.uk/admissions. The school follows Islington Council's Admission Arrangements.

2+ Centre Admissions

The government is funding the places for two-year-olds from low-income families who receive benefits. The entitlement begins at the start of the term following the child's second birthday. There are a limited number of places available at Hugh Myddelton's 2+ Centre. To apply for a place you need to check whether or not you are eligible online by clicking here. When you have received your confirmation letter please fill in an application from, available from the school office, and you will be put on the waiting list.

Nursery Admissions

Children are admitted to Hugh Myddelton Nursery at the start of the term following their third birthday (if places are available).  We offer the universal free 15 hours, however depending on availability, there is also the opportunity to pay for an extra fifteen hours. We follow the Islington day-care charges for school nursery classes.  These are available on request.

Some working families may be eligible for 30 hours free early learning per week and can check their eligibility at the following website:

https://www.gov.uk/help-with-childcare-costs/free-childcare-and-education-for-2-to-4-year-olds

We do need to see proof of eligibility before we can offer a full time place.

Children attend every day; part week places are not available.

The school office will keep an application list of pupils seeking admission. Inclusion of a child’s name on the list does not constitute a promise of a place. An application form for a nursery place should be completed by parents or carers and submitted to the office at least two terms before you wish your child to start.
